Water Activity on Food Products
Foodstuffs and medication materials contain water. As a polar molecule, water can be partly aligned by an applied electric field; however, there are forces in water preventing its molecules from moving freely. Thus, the energy counteracting this resistance is transferred to the ions and then to neighboring atoms or molecules. Food products or any material containing such charged ions are able to interact with any electric fields. Water absorbs radio frequency energy and turns it into heat. Water content is a very important factor in determining food quality, shelf stability and textural properties. Natural moisture content in produce offers freshness and quality.
The crisp, fragile biscuit or one in a limp state is determined by the water content and its distribution within the biscuit. To maintain the special textures and flavors in a food product, the food ingredients strictly limit the water content and distribution within the food product. Controlling the water activity and reactivity with unbound water content in food product will really help to attain food stability. In spite of the microstructure, local viscosity and associated molecular mobility are very important to food stability. Nevertheless, moisture content is one of the key factors in determining these parameters of a food matrix. To extend the shelf life, adjusting the water content is a common approach. Sublimation or evaporation is often used to remove liquid water to enhance the product stability. Thus the interaction of water molecules on food particles is an indispensable issue to discuss with.
RFID and Traceability
Traceability with RFID technology may definitely be a major contribution to food safety, for example, in outbreaks of infection. Recently in USA, an outbreak of E.coli in bags of fresh spinach highlighted the need for better traceability in the food chain, namely in tracing the source of food-borne illnesses and enabling authorities to locate the source of an outbreak in hours rather than weeks. The RFID tag has the advantage of potentially performing more functions than just product identification. The technology can also be used with virtually any other device built to monitor the status or condition of an item, such as pressure, humidity, gas leakage and tampering. Currently there are active tags which can monitor real time temperature, shock, and location. Therefore, this technology may have a tremendous impact on the cold chain.
An example of combination of RFID and temperature monitoring of fresh produce in transit is the system called X TractTM Cold Chain Monitoring Service created by GL&I (Victoria, Australia) in partnership with Exago Ltd. X TractTM is a web-based performance evaluation and data management service, comprising three core elements: a semi-active RFID enabled ’smart label; a RFID reader, which uploads this data via a secure web portal; and customized software that enables the customer to view the data from anywhere and at anytime. Encased in protective plastic skin and about the size of a credit card, the tag can be attached to the surface of a shipping crate or box, or can be inserted into a shipment or pallet load of perishable goods as it leaves the farm, wharf or warehouse. The tag continuously monitors and stores temperature of fruits and vegetables and time data throughout the supply chain. The data is then checked at various predetermined points.
Active Packaging of FMCG Products
If you have ever hunted for contents with regard to FMCG, you would have noticed active packaging has been variously referred into the discussions on various web sites by a number of differing definitions. Some of these definitions are either so broad as to include many packages that are clearly not active, or so narrow as to exclude important subsets of active packaging. According to countless reviews available with many FMCG related forums, active packaging has been classified as a subset of smart packaging and referred to as the incorporation of certain additives into packaging film or within packaging containers with the aim of maintaining and extending product shelf-life.
However, this definition focuses on the additives that make a package active and hence excludes certain categories such as temperature compensating polymeric films for fresh fruit and vegetables. Another case study states that packaging may be termed active when it performs some desired role in food preservation other than providing an inert barrier to external conditions. Consequently, let me refer to active packaging as a process of packaging in which contributory constituents have been consciously included in or on either the packaging substance or the package headspace to augment the performance of the package system. The key words here are ‘consciously’ and ‘augment’, and implicit in this sentence is that performance of the package system includes maintaining the sensory, safety and quality aspects of the food.
Seismic Services
Seismic services are an integral part of the oil supply to the world. We all know the importance of energy supplied by oil across the world and that makes seismic services that much more important. Gone are the days where drilling for oil was a hazardous job with frequent fatal accidents, modern day seismic services have improved leaps and bounds, much more safer and quicker satisfying the ever growing demand by the day. Seismic service companies are very good examples of platforms where world-class hardware and software are made to work in sync to achieve successful and efficient results. Modern day software’s generate a lot of 2D and 3D data points making it more convenient for engineering to be able to say with a degree of certainty if a location has oil underground and the modern day drilling equipment make it convenient for drilling the oil out of the ground and quench the thrust of millions and billions of motor vehicles, production factories and also in some cases generate energy. Off late many companies in advanced countries like the US, Canada are going offshore to drill. In spite of all the safety measures taken these days it is unfortunate that large-scale accidents happen case in point the BP oil spill that affected so many shores across multiple continents and so it is very important for oil companies to be response and believe in “prevention is better than cure”.
Leisure Traction Pads
The distribution rebellion has had an unwavering impact on the way editors believe about and make use of their online portals, above all the display page. In July, one of the journals in the United States created a novel position what we call it as the Creatures of Leisure traction pads day side editor. The job involves organizing the novelty of the portal and includes mixing the unsullied headlines on the newspaper’s feed all the way through the day. It’s more of a broadcast state of mind than a distinguishing newspaper mentality, I would rather say, the best of policies is to bring into play the feed and display page as a day-book, issue reminders of approaching events.
Rain Boots
From the perspective of a journalist, I would rather say that freedom of thought and freedom of expression depend wholly upon the capability of individuals to work out the right to distinguish, consider and evaluate for them. Through the rain boots years, threats to these organized offenses, government intelligence agencies, abusive psychiatric practices and international aggression, have been the targets of examinations. There are reported stories that deceitful bureaucrats and criminals have sought to be silent. In the end, its insistence has helped motivate and endorse open government measures that not only have revolutionized probing reporting methods in Europe, America and somewhere else, but also prolonged the public‘s right to be acquainted with, sense and judge for themselves. Yet, this is only the beginning of a far more dynamic process, for it is from these freedoms that the ingenious and humane answers to society‘s utmost challenges spring.
NC real estate
I would like to offer the readers of my blog an encyclopedic glance into a treasure-trove of information and facts bearing on vision, loads of aspects including material in cinema studies, anthropology, psychology, literature, and philosophy. I would like to make an endeavor into its beckoning pages of stories to commence a richly satisfying journey, glancing at the globe through configurations of Wilmington NC real estate time and space. What happens when we take an immediate look around a space? How do we rely what we distinguish in passing moments? I would like to describe how glancing counts for more of human inspection than in the past anticipated. An entire world is perceived in a glimpse, but our swift and uninterested attention prevents assessment of these speedy acts and processes. While breaking down this contradiction, I would survey the transitory look as an essential way by which we explain ourselves with the world.
Boat Anchors
Dear Readers! Notable for its girth and deepness, the title of my blog examines the range of information that one absorbs in swift glances. I could otherwise describe it as blink of an eye experiences that tell apart visual interaction with the planet. Looking at well-known, day by day events as well as instances from ancient past, linguistics, literature, art, picture making, and ethics, I hereby try boat anchors to build up something as sequence of events that will captivate anyone interested in attitude, psychology, and their relations in the construction of the perceptual world. Even scientists will be pleased about the notion that continuing poignant and cognitive experiences are built from momentary visual impressions.
